April 24-26 Rock Valley College, YWCA events take stand against racism

Rock Valley College (RVC) and the Rockford YWCA will host three community events April 24-26 designed to show solidarity in the stand against racism.

The events, which are open to the public, will be at the following dates, times and locations:

Tuesday, April 24, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. — RVC Stenstrom Center for Career Education, 4151 Samuelson Road;

Wednesday, April 25, noon-1 p.m. — Learning and Opportunity Center, Stewart Square, 308 W. State St., downtown Rockford; and

Thursday, April 26, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. — RVC Main Campus, 3301 N. Mulford Road.

The goal of these events is to raise awareness and begin new conversations.

Members of the community are encouraged to stop by at any time during the scheduled events to participate, observe and show their support.

These events are co-sponsored by the RVC Promoting an Inclusive Community committee and the YWCA.
