FREEPORT, Ill. — Opening Day at Little Cubs Field in Freeport, Ill., will begin at 6 p.m., Monday, April 23, with the Police Department playing Elliot Graphix in the Pee Wee Division of Freeport Little League Baseball.

Guest for the day is Brian Bernardoni, the official historian of Wrigley Field for the Chicago Cubs. He has also written several books about Wrigley Field and baseball. He is a past winner of the Jerome Holtzmann Award.

Bernardoni will throw out the first pitch and will be helping sing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” later in the game.
