Carpenter’s Place seeks donations of new adult-sized walking shoes for the homeless

Carpenter’s Place in Rockford is in need of donations of new adult-sized walking shoes for its homeless guests. Donations are being accepted through Wednesday, April 24, as part of a shoe drive.

Carpenter’s Place was established in June 2000 to provide a central, day-time center for people who are homeless. The center offers a day room, life services, case management, support and educational services, on-site community services, job readiness services, linkage and advocacy to community human service agencies, certified alcohol and drug counselors, a mental health coordinator, supportive transitional housing, women’s housing, permanent supportive housing and veterans’ housing.
