Arrests made in connection with April 29 armed robbery on Broadway

Marc A. Davis, 35, of Rockford, and Krystal M. Jones, 28, of Rockford, have been arrested in connection with the April 29 armed robbery of a woman in the 700 block of Broadway in Rockford.
At approximately 6 p.m., April 29, Rockford police were called to the 700 block of Broadway in reference to an armed robbery. Officers were advised the suspect approached the victim, placed a knife against her throat and demanded her purse. When the victim did not relinquish her purse to the suspect, the suspect fled to a black Dodge driven by an unknown female.
April 30, police detectives conducted a follow-up investigation into the incident. The facts of the investigation were reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office, who authorized the charges against Davis.
At 1 p.m., May 1, Davis was taken into custody by Rockford Police detectives and M-3 officers in a residence in the 1000 block of Kishwaukee Street. Also located in the residence was Krystal M. Jones-Novak.
Rockford Police detectives conducted additional follow-up to the incident. Jones-Novak was charged with armed robbery and arrested on a Winnebago County burglary warrant.
