DIXON, Ill. — New committee members are needed to help plan the 18th Annual Rock River Walk To End Alzheimer’s, to be held Sept. 22 at Lowell Park in Dixon, Ill.
“The annual event raises awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and funds for local programs and services provided by the Alzheimer’s Association — Central Illinois Chapter, Rock River Area,” said Central Illinois Chapter Walk Director Breeana Hill.
The next Rock River Walk Committee meeting will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 9, at the Alzheimer’s Association, Rock River Office, 93 S. Hennepin Ave., Dixon, Ill.
Walk To End Alzheimer’s is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
Committee members are asked to attend one-hour monthly meetings to help grow the walk by soliciting new corporate sponsors, recruiting new teams and individual walkers and planning logistics for the day of the walk.
