Rockford Rescue Mission’s Expressions of Hope Banquet set for May 10

Online Staff Report

Rockford Rescue Mission invites friends, partners and members of the community to join them in honoring men and women whose lives have been transformed at the Mission. The celebration will take place at their Expressions of Hope annual banquet, Thursday, May 10, at the Radisson Hotel and Conference, 200 S. Bell School Road. Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m.

“This time of fellowship gives our graduates an opportunity to share their stories of transformation and new beginnings,” said Executive Director Sherry Pitney. “And it allows our donors and friends to hear firsthand how their compassion and giving spirits have truly made a difference. It’s also a time for those not familiar with the Mission’s work to learn what we’re all about. Everyone who has a heart for people who want to change their lives are invited to attend.”

Proceeds from the event support the Mission’s programs and services to assist Rockford’s homeless and needy. Each year the Mission provides 68,000 nights of lodging for men, women and children and serves more than 155,000 meals for those in its shelters and hungry members of the community. In addition, more than 200 individuals each year take part in the Mission’s long-term residential recovery programs. Tickets for Expressions of Hope may be purchased at $35 each or $350 for a table of 10. Reservations can be made online at www.rockfordrescuemission.org.

Information on the Mission’s programs and services is also available on the website.
