Tourism bureau’s annual breakfast meeting May 8 at Giovanni’s

The Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (RACVB) will hold its annual breakfast meeting from 7:30 to 9 a.m., Tuesday, May 8, to discuss the health of the bureau and the tourism industry.
Scott Provancher, president of the Arts & Science Council of Charlotte, N.C., will serve as the keynote speaker for the event.
Provancher will challenge long-held notions about growing your organization/business or community. He will also discuss his thoughts about the changing trends in philanthropy, the importance of failure, and making space for innovation.
Provancher is a Rockford native and the former executive director of the Rockford Symphony Orchestra.
RACVB will also induct new members into its Tourism Hall of Fame.
Cost is $35 per person, and the event, which will be at Giovanni’s, 610 N. Bell School Road, Rockford, is open to the public.
