Four arrested for residential burglary after attempting to hide from police in attic

Four individuals have been arrested and charged in relation to a May 7 residential burglary at 1803 Eighth St., Rockford.
Shortly after 2 a.m., Monday, May 7, Rockford Police patrol officers responded to the residence at 1803 Eighth St. in regard to a burglary in progress.
Upon arrival, officers encountered several individuals attempting to exit the residence. After being advised by the officers to stop, the individuals fled back into the dwelling. Officers located all four individuals hiding in the attic of the residence.
A search of the suspects yielded a quantity of a substance believed to be cannabis.
The following individuals were charged in relation to the incident:
Dory Love, 31, of Rockford — charged with residential burglary and criminal damage to property and arrested on a forgery warrant and a failure to appear warrant;
Eugene Woods, 39, of Rockford — charged with residential burglary and criminal damage to property and arrested on a traffic warrant, a driving after suspension warrant, a failure to register as a sex offender warrant and aggravated fleeing to elude warrant;
Cedric McFadden, 17, of Rockford — charged with residential burglary, criminal damage to property and violation of the Cannabis Control Act (intent to deliver); and
Michael Holliman, 17, of Rockford — charged with residential burglary and criminal damage to property.
