Police investigate May 17 shooting that resulted in vehicle crashing into Big Foot Lounge

Rockford police responded to reports of gunfire being exchanged between two vehicles in the area of South Alpine and Newburg roads at about 10:50 p.m., Thursday, May 17.
One of the vehicles, which was carrying a woman and two passengers, crashed into Big Foot Lounge, 1609 S. Alpine. The passengers fled the scene and did not return.
According to police, a silver minivan followed the vehicle while traveling westbound on Newburg. The minivan then turned south onto Alpine and one of the occupants of the minivan then reportedly opened fire.
The driver of the other vehicle lost control of her vehicle and struck Big Foot Lounge. The incident is under investigation.
