Rockford man arrested in May 20 armed robbery of Phillips 66 station

William A. Woodard, 41, of Rockford, has been charged with the May 20 armed robbery of the Phillips 66 gas station at 4402 Linden Road, Rockford.
Shortly after 1 a.m., May 20, Rockford police responded to the Phillips 66 on Linden Road in reference to an armed robbery. Upon arrival, officers were advised the suspect entered the business wearing a black mask and armed with a handgun.
The suspect demanded cash from the cash register and then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Patrol officers located a suspect, identified as Woodard, in the 4300 block of Yale Drive. Woodard was transported to the Public Safety Building, where he is being held.
