Arrest made after late-night Rockford bakery burglary

At 2:26 a.m. May 12, members of the Rockford Police Department arrived at Doughboy Bakery, 3030 11th St., after being alerted to a commercial burglary.

Charles Wyatt Jr. of Rockford was arrested May 23 after investigators from the Police Department’s Burglary Unit conducted a follow-up investigation of the crime and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Wyatt, 44, was found and detained at a local hotel.

He faces charges of burglary and parole violation. Wyatt was on parole for burglary prior to the Doughboy Bakery incident.

At this time, Wyatt has not been formally charged. Photographs of Wyatt have not been released because of ongoing investigations.
