May 30, 2012

Staff Report

A variety of opportunities for youth to learn and play indoor volleyball is offered year round at Rockford Park District’s Indoor Sports Center in Loves Park, and registration is under way for summer lessons, camps and leagues.

The Summer Aces program for boys and girls ages 9-14 combines instruction with league play in a June 7-July 26 session; the four-day All Skills Camp is offered in June, July and August for beginner and intermediate level boys and girls ages 6-15 to learn basic volleyball skills and game play; Select Volleyball Camp, also a four-day program, runs July 16-19 and is a skill-specific camp for more advanced players ages 11-18, who determine the skills they want to improve upon.

Summer leagues begin in early June, and are offered for elementary, junior high, freshman/JV, and varsity teams — early registration is recommended.

Registration for all programs ends one week before each session start date if capacity hasn’t been reached sooner; register online at www.rockfordparkdistrict.org (click Register Now), by mail, fax (with credit card), or at Park Customer Service (downtown Rockford or Carlson Ice Arena, Loves Park). For session fees, descriptions and schedules, check the Spring/Summer 2012 Rockford Park District Program Guide available online and at Park District offices and facilities, or by calling (815) 987-8800, where information about support for players with disabilities is also available.
