Park District Foundation offers ‘Cruisin’ on the Rock’

Staff Report

Experience a unique view with a different theme each time you set sail with the Rockford Park District Foundation. “Cruisin’ on the Rock” is a series of themed cruises on the beautiful Rock River, starting with the “Brews Cruise” June 14; a second cruise, “Sip and Sail,” takes place July 19.

Cruises on the Forest City Queen depart from the Riverview Ice House dock at 324 N. Madison St. Passes are $35 per person, and all guests must be at least 21 and have a valid ID to board.

At 5 p.m., a social hour will be held on land, where light food will be served. Jason Baldridge will be taking photos. At 6 p.m., the cruise boards, and lasts an hour-and-a-half.

During the cruises, sponsored by Artale Wine Company and Radisson Hotel and Conference Center, guests can enjoy 10 imported and domestic beers, or several specialty red and white wines.

Buying a boarding pass supports the Rockford Park District Foundation. The mission of the Rockford Park District Foundation is to assist the Rockford Park District by securing philanthropic support on its behalf, and enhancing awareness of the district’s benefits to the community.

Reservations can be made by calling (815) 987-1632. Reservations for the “Brews Cruise” must be made by June 11; reservations for the “Sip and Sail” must be made by June 16.
