Tribute to ‘Professor Bass’ fund-raiser set for June 14

Babe Winkelman’s Tribute to “Professor Bass” (the late David F. Johnson) fund-raiser and fish fry buffet will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 14, at the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center, 200 S. Bell School Road, Rockford.

The purpose is to support the Accessible Pier Project established in honor of “Professor Bass” Davey Johnson, fisherman and public servant. A VIP reception with world-class fisherman Babe Winkelman will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. for sponsors donating $100 or more.

Space is limited, so reserve now. Individual event tickets are $30, or purchase a table of eight for $300 (includes two VIP tickets). Sponsorship opportunities are available for $100, $300, $500, $1,000, $2,500 and $5,000. The David F. Johnson Accessible Fishing Pier is a tax-deductible Rockford Park District Foundation project.
