Woodstock’s TownSquare Players preps for ‘Blithe Spirit’, ‘Spelling Bee’

WOODSTOCK, Ill. — TownSquare Players (TSP) is seeking applicants for the positions of producer and artistic director for its November 2012 production of the Noel Coward comedy Blithe Spirit.
TSP is also seeking applicants for the positions of producer, artistic director, vocal/music director and orchestra conductor for its March 2013 production of the Tony Award-nominated musical comedy by William Finn and Rachel Sheinkin, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Both shows will be performed at the Woodstock Opera House in Woodstock, Ill.
Individuals interested in any of these positions, which will be paid a stipend, are invited to e-mail a letter of interest and/or résumé to firstname.lastname@example.org. Deadline for producer applicants is Friday, June 8. Application deadline for artistic director, vocal/music director and orchestra conductor candidates is Friday, June 15.
Those interested in other behind-the-scenes positions are encouraged to submit a letter of interest or résumé to the same e-mail address at their earliest convenience. After the board chooses a producer (or co-producers) for each show, interviews will be held with selected director/conductor candidates later in June or early July. Producers will start staffing each show this summer.
Open auditions for Blithe Spirit are expected to be held in late August or early September, while open auditions for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee will be in December or early January 2013. Both shows will be performed for three weekends.
