Maria Montessori School says ‘Thanks!’ for supporting Water Fair
As students of Maria Montessori School, we’d like to thank all the magnanimous families, individuals, and businesses that donated to our successful Water Fair on Saturday, May 12. We held the fair because we wanted to raise awareness of the horrible situation in South Sudan (many children dying daily because of total lack of clean drinking water). After reading the book A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park, we were inspired to aid the people of South Sudan to have clean and safe drinking water; to save lives and to let children go to school. At the Water Fair, there were games, student-made crafts, live music, vendors from JustGoods and Wonderland Books, and much more.
Our goal is to raise $15,000 to drill a well in South Sudan. We raised about $1,600 at the Water Fair, and are now up to about $11,000.
Thank you to Maculan Chiropractic, 320 Store, Hamilton Sundstrand, and all of the other generous sponsors of our fair.
