Auditions for Pec’s ‘Almost Heaven’ July 9-10

PECATONICA, Ill. — Pec Playhouse Theatre in Pecatonica, Ill., will host auditions for Almost Heaven, the life and music of John Denver, directed by James Castree, from 7 to 9 p.m., July 9-10. Possible call-backs will be July 11, if needed.
Auditions will be at Pec Playhouse Theatre, 314 N. Main St., Pecatonica, Ill. Show dates are Fridays-Sundays, Sept. 14-30, with times at 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m., Sundays.
Auditions will consist of cold reads from the script, learning a short dance routine and a vocal audition. Prepare 16 bars of a John Denver song or something in a similar style (such as country, folk or pop). An accompanist will be provided, or you may bring a CD. Dress appropriately for the dance portion of the audition.
A particular need is for actors who can also play musical instruments. If you can play the guitar, fiddle, harmonica or anything else, bring your instrument and prepare a short selection that shows off your skills. Pec Playhouse Theatre can be reached at (815) 239-1210.
