July 11 deadline for Make My Non-Profit Run Better contest
Online Staff Report
PEORIA, Ill. — RK Dixon, a leading provider of copiers, printers, networks, managed print services and pure drinking water systems, is inviting non-profits in eastern Iowa, northwest Illinois and southern Wisconsin to enter its seventh annual Make My Non-Profit Run Better contest.
The contest provides non-profit organizations in more than 80 counties across eastern Iowa, northwest Illinois and southern Wisconsin the opportunity to win an office technology makeover valued at up to $15,000. The first runner-up will receive a prize valued at $10,000, and the two remaining winners will receive a prize valued at $5,000. In addition, RK Dixon will award eight other entrants with a prize valued at up to $1,000 each.
“In the six years the contest has been in existence, we have donated more than $253,000 to help non-profits better serve their communities,” said Bryan Dixon, president of RK Dixon. “The impact has been dramatic. It has created positive change that has deeply inspired us and the thousands of people who participated. That’s why this contest remains a top priority for our company.”
The makeover may include, but is not limited to: a black and white copier, a color copier, a printer, multifunction systems, IT services and water purification units.
“We understand that it’s difficult for many non-profit organizations to find the money to purchase, install and manage office equipment,” said Dixon. “This is our way of acknowledging and thanking non-profits for the hard work they do in providing charitable services to our communities.”
Last year’s Make My Non-Profit Run Better contest awarded the Hult Center for Health Education & Cancer Center for Healthy Living a $15,000 office technology makeover.
This year, RK Dixon is inviting all 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations in eastern Iowa, northwest Illinois and the southern tip of Wisconsin (for a detailed list of participating counties, visit http://rkdixon.com/MMNPRB-2012/criteria.asp; Boone, DeKalb, Jo Daviess, McHenry, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside and Winnebago are included) to enter the Make My Non-Profit Run Better contest at www.rkdixon.com.
Registration for the contest will close at 5 p.m., Wednesday, July 11. RK Dixon will then ask the public to go online to vote for the non-profit they think has the biggest need for an office makeover.
RK Dixon is partnering with WEEK-TV for this year’s Make My Non-Profit Run Better contest.
