Six arrested for DUI following Fourth of July patrols by Boone County Sheriff’s Department

BELVIDERE, Ill. — The Boone County Sheriff’s Department recently conducted extra patrols for the Fourth of July holiday. Deputies worked two different types of extra patrols. One type was a seat belt enforcement zone. These were conducted at all hours of the day and night. The seat belt enforcement zones stopped 20 cars and 17 tickets were issued for noncompliance with the seat belt laws. One ticket was issued for child safety seat violations.

The second type of patrol was conducted in the nighttime hours and was looking for driving under the influence (DUI) offenders. The patrols stopped 23 cars resulting in six DUI arrests, two drug arrests, eight speeding tickets and one insurance violation citation. Following are those who were arrested for DUI:

Anthony Cardenas, 45, Belvidere;

Jennifer Alvarez, 23, Rockford;

Randall Glazier, 21, of Belvidere;

Adriana Miranda, 20, of Walworth, Wis.;

Zebulon Austin, 28, of Woodstock, Ill.; and

Shaun Sinsabaugh, 21, of Belvidere, Ill.

The extra patrols were funded from a Sustained Traffic Enforcement Program grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation.
