‘Celebration of Life’ for Andrew John Cole July 15

Online Staff Report

Andrew John Cole, only child of regional community leaders Carl and Dianna Cole, will turn 30 years old this July 15, and the family invites the community to help them celebrate.

At the early age of 2, he began displaying musical aptitude by making noises with his mouth “on beat” in the back seat of the car on the way to church or a gig. At age 3, “Drew”, as his parents call him, acquired a drum set (a gift from his grandfather, Pastor John Collins, Holy Temple Church in Freeport). After his dad showed him a few basics, the rest is history.

Drew took to the percussion artistry immediately, and in time developed into a talented drummer, playing for church services, concerts and even recording sessions before he was a teen-ager. Through the years, Andrew learned the tricks of the trade of the music industry through his father’s company, Sounds Of Good News Productions. Recently, he started his own business (AJ COLE-lectionz) through which he is producing his own instrumental musical creations, displaying his accomplishments on bass and keyboards (and occasionally vocals). He will soon be releasing a series of CDs.

The public is invited to stop by a “Celebration of Life” fellowship from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday, July 15, at Holy Temple Church, 520 W. Ringpld St., Freeport.
