DEKALB, Ill. — You are invited to the Fourth Annual Country Music Show with the theme “Collecting School Supplies” from 1:30-4 p.m., Sunday, July 15. Place is The House Café, 263 E. Lincoln Hwy. (corner of East Lincoln Highway and Third Street), DeKalb, Ill.
Hear live bands playing country, bluegrass and gospel music. Bands and singers are welcome to volunteer to play in the show. Emcee will be Brian Adams of B95 Radio.
Performers at this event include the Jim Gibson Band, playing bluegrass, and Dave Guzzardo and the Foot Stompers, who will play banjo and sing country songs.
Gary Mullis, organizer of the event for the fourth year, will also be performing, backed by his band, CMKT No. 4. They play drum, lead guitar and bass guitar. Mullis won Song of the Year for his gold record, “Keep It Country”, in 2009. In 2010, he won Song of the Year for a platinum record, “Doing the Christmas Boogie.” In 2011, he won another Songwriter of the Year award with a big platinum record, untitled.
Bring all kinds of school supplies: writing paper, notebooks, pencils, pens, crayons, glue, rulers, totebags, backpacks and anything else kids might need for school. All supplies will go to the Salvation Army for distribution.
