Five adults displaced, one firefighter injured in 11th Street fire

Five adults were displaced and one firefighter sustained a minor injury July 13 following a fire at an eight-family apartment complex in the 500 block of 11th Street, Rockford.
According to a press release from the Rockford Fire Department, the first engine on the scene reported heavy flames coming from the apartment complex. An interior attack brought the fire under control within 30 minutes. Total loss from the fire is estimated at $90,000.
