Three arrested in connection with stabbing of 38-year-old Rockford man

Tywanna L. West, 47, Shawanna Hurt, 21, and Clayton Parr, 40, all of Rockford, have been arrested in connection with a July 12 stabbing that left a 38-year-old Rockford man with a life-threatening injury.

Shortly before 10:30 p.m., Thursday, July 12, Rockford police detectives came across a fight in the 1000 block of Garfield Avenue in Rockford. During the investigation, it was discovered that a 38-year-old Rockford man had been stabbed in the leg. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was being treated for a life-threatening injury.

Police and detectives conducted a follow-up investigation into the incident. Several witnesses and possible suspects were transported to the Public Safety Building for questioning. The facts of the investigation were reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office and the following charges were authorized against the three individuals:

West was charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder; one count of mob action; and one count of aggravated battery; and Hurt and Parr were both charged with one count of mob action and one count of aggravated battery.

Arrest warrants were obtained for the three individuals. They were arrested and are being held at the Winnebago County Jail.
