‘Baby Noah’ laid to rest, memorial fund established

About 50 people gathered Friday, July 20, at Calvary Cemetery in Winnebago, Ill., for the grave-side service of “Baby Noah,” who was found deceased July 13 at One Source Recycling, 13125 N. Second St., Roscoe, Ill.
The service was in the “Baby Land” section of the cemetery, and was conducted by retired Police Chaplain Father William Wentink.
All funeral costs were covered by donations, including the following: funeral services donated by Midwest Trade Services — Steve Cooter; grave donated by Calvary Cemetery; casket, vault and head stone donated by Wilburt Vault Company; casket flowers donated by Crimson Ridge; blanket donated by ladies from Westminster Presbyterian Church; quilt donated by Sinnissippi Quilters of Rockford; Baby Noah’s clothing donated by a citizen of Rockford; rosary donated by The Rosary Lady; and cash donated by the delivery driver fro the florist.
A memorial fund has been established in Baby Noah’s name at the Carrie Lynn Center. All contributions may be sent to the Carrie Lynn Center, 826 N. Main St., Rockford, IL 61103, ATTN: Baby Noah Fund.
Monson Chiropractic Clinic, 3779 N. Alpine Road, is offering new patients a consultation, exam, X-ray and report findings ($250 value) if the new patient will donate a minimum of $29 to the memorial fund for Baby Noah. The offer is valid through Aug. 1. Appointments may be scheduled by calling (815) 633-9115.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to One Source Recycling at approximately 8:46 a.m., July 13, along with crime scene deputies. Upon arrival, it was determined a newborn infant male had been found dead on a conveyor belt line by employees of the firm. The company employees immediately called 911 after having found the infant.
Sheriff’s Department police are continuing to investigate the incident. Anyone with information should contact the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department at (815) 319-6300 or Crime Stoppers at (815) 963-7867.
