Went to the Black Ensemble Theater to see "The Story of Marvin Gaye". This young lady Yahdina U-Deen played the role of his mother. After the scene where Marvin was killed by his father she sang a song about a mothers loss of her child. WOW, it was OUTSTANDING. She brought tears to my eyes. I felt as if she really just lost her child. Her body, her voice, her mind, the pain in her eyes pierced my soul. Never have I been brought to tears in a play before. I told her how she touched me during her performance, she was still emotional. It was as if she was still on the stage. How powerful to feel your role so deeply that it touches others. Play ends August 19, 2012. Well worth seeing!
