Grammy winner Peter Frampton will perform at Rockford’s Davis Park at 8 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 4.
Frampton remains one of the most celebrated artists and guitarists in rock history. At 16, he was the lead singer and guitarist for British band the Herd. At 18, he co-founded one of the first super groups, seminal rock act Humble Pie.
Frampton’s session work includes such legendary artists as George Harrison, Harry Nilsson, David Bowie, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ringo Starr, John Entwistle and many others, and his fifth solo album, the electrifying Frampton Comes Alive!, is one of the top-selling live records of all-time.
Of his live show, the Los Angeles Times notes “… the British virtuoso is still making sweet music.” St. Louis Post Dispatch furthers the acclaim by admiring “the purity of the musicianship from Frampton,” while The Herald Scotland lauds the guitarist, explaining, “he delivered, with practiced ease, everything from jazz-inflected introductions to fierce, irresistible solos,” and Omaha World Herald continuing, “He’s easily one of the best guitarists.”
Frampton’s career was recently celebrated with a CBS Sunday Morning profile piece. For more about Frampton, visit www.frampton.com.
