Rockton teen hosts free concert to help fight hunger Aug. 3

ROCKTON, Ill. — Rockton teen-ager Danielle Juhre is hosting her Second Annual Windsor Auto Sales Music Night with all proceeds going to the Rock River Valley Food Pantry. The event will be at Sinnissippi Band Shell beginning at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 3.
Juhre has asked Southern Charm, one of Rockford’s high-energy country bands, to join her with Rockford pop/funk band Common Ground.
Admission is free. Windsor Auto Sales team members will be selling refreshments and $2 “Race for Hunger” wristbands that allow anyone $2 off Windsor Auto Night at the Rockford Speedway Aug. 25, Nick’s Beatin N’ Bangin Boat Race.
Juhre is 18 years old and just graduated from Rockton Hononegah High School. She will be selling her latest CD, The Best of Me. Half of the money raised from the CD will go to the Food Pantry, which serves more than 7,000 Rockford families each month.
Southern Charm takes the stage at 6:30 p.m., Juhre at 8 p.m. and Common Ground at 8:30 p.m.
Last year, the entire Race for Hunger events hosted by Windsor Auto Sales raised $12,300, and they hope to do more this year.
