One suspect in custody, another sought in July 25 murder

Wyatt M. Hawkins, 29, and Ian W. Blake, 37, both of Rockford, face multiple counts of first-degree murder in relation to the July 25 shooting death of Troy Crecy.
Shortly before 10 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 5, Rockford police patrol officers responded to 1502 Muldoon in reference to an anonymous caller advising Hawkins was at that address. Officers secured the residence, and shortly after 4 p.m., Hawkins was taken into custody without incident.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Blake is encouraged to contact the Rockford police shift commander at (815) 987-5824 or Crime Stoppers at (815) 963-7867.
Shortly before 9 p.m., July 25, members of the Rockford Police Department responded to the 1200 block of Eighth Street in reference to a shooting incident with a victim at the scene. The victim, Crecy, was suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died as a result of his injuries.
