Police Department hosts monthly public crime analysis forum Aug. 8

Rockford Police Department will host its monthly public CompStat forum from 7:30 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 8, at the Public Safety Building, 420 W. State St., classroom A/B.
The meeting is similar to the City of Rockford’s monthly RockStat forums. The sole purpose of CompStat is to analyze crime trends and data.
District 3 (far east side of Rockford) will be highlighted from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.; District 2 (near east side of Rockford) will be discussed between 8:45 and 9:45 a.m.; and District 1 (west side of Rockford) will be featured from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
CompStat employs Geographic Information System (GIS) to map crime and identify problems. CompStat provides accurate, timely data; rapid deployment of resources; effective tactics; and relentless follow-up toward meeting organizational goals.
