City of Rockford holds public hearings on 2012 CED Plan

The City of Rockford will holds two public hearings to provide status of 2012 Community and Economic Development (CED) Program activities to interested citizens, groups and organizations and to inform the public of budget changes that will result in a substantial amendment to the 2012 plan.
The first public hearing will take place at noon, Tuesday, Aug. 14, at Patriots Gateway Community Center, 615 S. Fifth St.
The second public hearing will take place at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 14, at Northwest Community Center, 1325 N. Johnston Ave.
Both sessions will cover the same information. Interested participants only need to attend one session.
The public hearings will also provide participants with an opportunity to express their ideas and views on housing and community development needs as they relate to the City of Rockford’s 2013 Consolidated Plan Annual Update.
The Consolidated Plan Annual Update satisfies the minimum statutory requirements for three federal formula programs: the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), the HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) and the Emergency Shelter Grants Program (ESGP).
The hearings will be accessible to people with disabilities in compliance with federal laws upon notification of anticipated attendance. Individuals with disabilities planning to attend and needing special accommodations should contact by letter or telephone, the Neighborhood Development Division, Community and Economic Development Department, 425 E. State St., Rockford, IL 61104, (815) 987-5690, by Aug. 13, to make notice of their anticipated attendance.
