Employment Open House at Atwood Center Aug. 9, 11

The Rockford Park District’s Environmental Recreation and Education (ERE) department, along with Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens staff, will hold an Employment Open House from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 9, and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 11.
The Employment Open House will be at Atwood Center, 2685 New Milford School Road, Rockford.
The Open House provides the opportunity to apply for and interview for the following positions:
ERE Instructor I — Works 10 to 20 hours per week, requires some college and experience working with people outdoors; pay range is $8.40 to $11.08 an hour; and
ERE Instructor II — Works up to 35 hours per week, requires a bachelor’s degree and one to three years experience. Acts as manager on duty, overnight shift required; pay range $9.72 to $13.41 an hour.
The purpose of these positions is to provide participants (ages 5-adult) with an exceptional experience in outdoor recreation and to assist in developing lifelong leisure skills.
Position responsibilities include providing residential education and field experiences, tours and off-site programs for participants.
Activities include archery, green technology, hiking, botany, field science, outdoor living skills, river study and much more.
Instructors provide services at Atwood Center, Nicholas Conservatory and Gardens, and other facilities and sites throughout the Rockford Park District.
