Park District pools, water park to close for season

There’s still time to enjoy refreshing and fun time in the water at Rockford Park District pools and Magic Waters Waterpark before the end of the 2012 season. Public swimming sessions are offered daily at Alpine Pool, Harkins Aquatic Center, Sand Park Pool and Magic Waters as follows:
Alpine Pool, 4310 Newburg Road, Rockford — Open through Sunday, Aug. 12. Hours are 1-6 p.m., Monday-Friday, and noon-6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. Call (815) 987-8804 or visit www.rockfordparkdistrict.org/pools [1].
Harkins Aquatic Center, 910 Acorn St., Rockford — Open through Sunday, Aug. 19. Open daily, noon-5 p.m. Call (815) 987-8805 or visit www.rockfordparkdistrict.org/pools [1]. Harkins Aquatic Center is free.
Sand Park Pool, 1041 E. Riverside Blvd., Loves Park — Open through Sunday, Aug. 19. Hours are 1-6 p.m., Monday-Friday, and noon-6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. Call (815) 987-8806 or visit www.rockfordparkdistrict.org/pools [1].
Magic Waters Waterpark, 7820 CherryVale N. Blvd., Cherry Valley — Open through Sunday, Aug. 19. Open 10 a.m.-9 p.m., Monday and Friday; and 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Tuesday-Thursday and Saturday-Sunday. Call (815) 966-2442 or visit www.magicwaterswaterpark.com [2].
