Rockford man arrested on cocaine, heroin and cannabis charges

The State Line Area Narcotics Team (SLANT) arrested a Rockford resident for possession with the intent to deliver cocaine, possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jason C. Bethune, 33, of the 2900 block of Langstone Drive, Rockford, was arrested and charged with two counts of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance (cocaine and heroin), both class 1 felonies, and one count of possession of cannabis and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, both class A misdemeanors.
The arrest of Bethune comes after SLANT agents and members of the Illinois State Police S.W.A.T. team executed a search warrant of Bethune’s Rockford residence. Seized as a result of the search warrant were 1.4 grams of suspected cocaine, 2.3 grams of suspected heroin, 24.9 grams of suspected cannabis and drug paraphernalia.
Class 1 felonies are punishable by four to 15 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Class A misdemeanors are punishable by up to one year in a county jail.
