Teen sentenced to 12 years for armed robbery of Mulford Check’n Go Cash Store

Will Evans, 19, was sentenced to 12 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections Aug. 27 for armed robbery.
Aug. 12, 2011, Rockford police responded to the Check’n Go Cash Store at 160 N. Mulford Road, Rockford, in reference to an armed robbery. Employees reported two male subjects walked into the business, one of whom came around the counter and pointed a weapon at them. The other subject, identified as Will Evans, grabbed U.S. currency out of the cash register while the first subject kept the weapon pointed at an employee.
Armed robbery is a class X felony with a sentencing range of six to 30 years in the Department of Corrections followed by three years mandatory supervised release.
