Rockford to host NAACP state convention Oct. 19-21

The Illinois Conference of Branches of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) will host its 76th Annual State Convention in Rockford Oct. 19-21.
For 103 years, the NAACP has been on the “front line” advocating for justice and equality for all people. Conventions are designed to provide critical information and training for the group’s many volunteers who operate throughout Illinois.
A minimum of 200 registered participants is expected, and an additional 100 participants for sponsored events.
The theme for this year’s convention is: “Your Power, Your Decision, Vote …”
Convention topics will include educational issues, civil engagement, health awareness, financial freedom and criminal justice.
