I've read the book and actually had to read it a second time to fully grasp all the twists, turns and hoops John had to go thru with the judicial system just to get his mother out of a place she shouldn't have been! Civil and human rights has definitely been violated, no doubt. I hope this story explodes in Rockford and exposes the scams and medicare fraud that exists nationwide. People may or may not be surprised by the attorneys involved! I highly recommend reading the book to anyone who has parents or plans to get old some day!! The scenario is repeated all over the US and has become 'our dirty little secret.' Worse yet, the miscreants are able to muster the power of government to protect their niche. If a lawyer speaks out against the tragic situation he can expect discipline either from the Courts or the ARDC. The First Amendment Rights are suspended when objection is raised to a Wyman, a Sykes, a Gore, a Tyler senior is deprived of their liberty, their property, their civil rights or their human rights. As an ARDC attorney recently argued - it reminds the public of the Greylord scandal and how 17 judges went to jail! Unfortunately the Elder Abuse/Financial exploitation of the elderly that is revealed in Mr. Wyman’s book is not an anomaly.
