Why? Why? Why?

September 12, 2012

When the city, county, and state do road work, they plant trees right under the electrical wires; a few years later, here come the treee trimmers. Why?

Check out the sidewalk intersections downtown. They are a mess, chipped and crumbling. The city sure didn’t hire a cement contractor. Why?

The law states that when you turn your wipers on, you also turn on your lights. Just notice next time, seven out of 10 cars will not have their lights on. Why?

If you drive into a Wal-Mart parking lot, the fire lane is full of cars. Why? LAZY PEOPLE. There used to be rules of the road for bicycle riders. Why aren’t they enforced? If you are downtown, be careful as they ride more on the sidewalks than the streets, and they don’t know how to use the signals.

The old courthouse on Elm Street is the nicest building in the entire city, but did you see what was done to it? Someone had the entrance area and the chain above it painted green. What a disgrace!

Why do people mow into the streets and roads? As you pass, grass and gravel hit your car.

When an accident occurs and a wrecker is called, why can’t they sweep up the debris?

If you are driving east on Riverside, watch out!The other drivers on Owen Center and Rockton Avenue who have a red light will turn right in front of you.

There are probably thousands of red eight-sided signs in our area. What is the definition; why can’t drivers make a complete stop?

The graduation ceremonies at the MetroCentre. Elderly people came down to pay their taxes, no parking. Surely there are better places for the graduations. I heard complaints from people for more than five hours. The city needs to listen to some of the senior citizens — they pay most of the taxes!

Have you been to any of our parks lately? Why can’t they be monitored at least once a week? I think the park district has gotten too big, and they can’t keep up with the upkeep.

Neighborhood Standards has been called for over a year. There is a house on North Central Avenue. The house is a mess, and the neighbors shouldn’t have to put up with it. Why?

Why do people burn all year long? We are supposed to be able to burn in April and November, on Saturdays and Sundays, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. only. These people burn when they want to. It is especially bad in the summer when a person would like their windows opened.

Why do people on welfare have cell phones, $45 fingernails, tattoos, play bingo all over town, have designer jeans, and still smoke cigarettes? I sure think the system has to be looked into.

Why don’t people who live here want to become citizens?

I know there are a lot of WHYs here, but most of them could be changed without cost to the city, county or state.

Thank you.

You raise a lot of good points. My answer to you is simple; laziness, cowardice, and greed.

Everyone, from the President ( especially this yoo-yoo ) on down are greedy, concerned with themselves ONLY.
