Rockford Dance Company (RDC) will present Fall for Dance Sept. 21-23 in Kresge Hall inside Riverfront Museum Park, 711 N. Main St., Rockford. Performances are at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Sept. 21-22, and 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 23.
Fall for Dance is the re-creation of the Young Choreographers’ Concert that has always highlighted the choreography of the company members of the RDC.
Matthew Keefe, the new artistic director of RDC, has renamed the show and curated new choreographic materials from a number of different sources.
Fall for Dance will now premier works from within the company and from professional artists outside of Rockford. This year, 13 world premieres will be performed by the RDC. Matthew and Brittany Keefe will also be performing in a piece called Urban Nocturne.
With this production, RDC will unveil a new, intimate, 100-seat performance space in the Kresge Hall at the Riverfront Museum Park. A new dance subflooring will provide the organization the possibilities of performances anywhere and at anytime.
Kresge Hall will be transformed into an intimate, but also professional, performance space. A post-production discussion with choreographers will take place after the Friday and Saturday performances.
Tickets for the production can be secured by calling the RDC office at (815) 963-3341 or purchasing them at the door. Seating is limited, so reserved tickets are advised.
