Discovery Center’s Family Ball set for Oct. 6

The Discovery Center Auxiliary is making final preparations for the Second Annual FamilyBall, set for 6 to 10 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6, at Discovery Center, 711 N. Main St., Rockford.

This year’s theme is “Tropical Paradise.” Attend dressed in your favorite tropical clothes. Enjoy a great meal courtesy of ABC Catering, including yummy options for kids. There will be fun games and activities, a silent auction, “fishing pond” for kids and much more.

Take part in a scavenger hunt throughout the museum, take a peek at the evening sky with a telescope, witness a shark dissection and get your own shark tooth; create your own volcano; witness volcanic eruptions and much more.

Learn to hula AND learn about Hawaiian culture with the Aloha Hula Girls. Bid for some great silent auction items, including an American Girl doll and a two-night stay at the Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells.
