Police investigate death of 27-year-old woman on Rockford’s west side

Rockford police are investigating the death of a 27-year-old woman in the 2300 block of Belden Street on Rockford’s west side, near Rockford Memorial Hospital.

Police were called to the scene shortly after 5 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 10. According to reports, trauma was evident on the woman’s body. Police are expected to investigate the case as a homicide.

The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office has scheduled an autopsy for Thursday, Oct. 11.
