Team Fur Bandit, North America’s premier professional fur-covered bicycle cycling team, announced its partnership with Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful (KNIB) Saturday, Oct. 6, during its first Team Fur Bandit Fall Bicycle Classic.
The team gathered off 200 Y Blvd. (near the YMCA and sand volleyball courts) for two hours to showcase their preferred mode of transportation — bikes!
The show doubled as a calendar photo shoot with attendees, team members and a representative from KNIB taking pictures for a cause.
The 2013 Team Fur Bandit community calendar, the first calendar in the team’s history, will be printed in late October with proceeds benefiting the environmentally-focused group.
Team Fur Bandit members will also assist in efforts to promote volunteerism for KNIB.
“We greatly appreciate the endorsement and support of Team Fur Bandit,” said Lori Gummow, executive director of KNIB. “We welcome its members to volunteer for our ongoing beautification events.”
Calendars will be available for purchase at Team Fur Bandit’s annual Tour de Frost Dec. 1.
Team Fur Bandit steals the attention away from the negativity in the world and renews the interest in fun, fur and philanthropy. The Rockford-based group is about good deeds, a good time and creating a connected cycling community.
