Habitat for Humanity ReStore to relocate

Staff Report

Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity (RAHFH) ReStore will be relocating to a new storefront in North Towne Mall in late October. The ReStore will move two doors east to the space currently occupied by Super Dollar.

Habitat volunteers will be remodeling the new space and relocating inventory from the current space over the next three weeks. The volunteers and ReStore staff will make every effort to continue with regular store hours and donation pick-ups. However, there may be a temporary interruption in both based on the progress of the relocation.

Similar to other resale shops, the ReStore receives its inventory from surplus materials donated by local builders, contractors and business owners. Additionally, homeowners involved in remodeling projects will donate their gently-used materials.

Since established in 2007, the Habitat ReStore has donated all profits to support RAHFH’s mission to build affordable homes to be sold to qualified low-income families in Rockford. The fourth ReStore-funded home was built this summer and sold last month.

For more about what donations are accepted and how to donate, go to www.rockfordhabitat.com or call the Habitat ReStore at (815) 713-3184.
