Rockford native’s a capella group finalist in Lady Antebellum contest

Rockford native Tony Marx’s a capella group, Breath of Soul, has made the top five in the finals of the nationwide Lady Antebellum contest.
According to the contest website, acappella.ladyantebellum.com: “Lady A wants you to be a part of special event with them in Nashville this December. That’s right, your a cappella group could have the chance to be flown to Nashville, Tenn., and perform with Lady Antebellum. Start your vocal warm-ups, grab a video camera and get your group together for an a cappella version of any Lady A song. Submit your video and YOUR a cappella group could be performing with Lady Antebellum!”
Viewer voting has begun and lasts through midnight, Friday, Oct. 19. Votes can be cast every 24 hours by visiting Breath of Soul’s page, http://www.acappella.ladyantebellum.com/entry/740329. The winner will be announced Tuesday, Oct. 23.
Three of the four members of Breath of Soul — Marx, David Kempton and Jesse Upah — are graduates of Millikin University in Decatur, Ill. The fourth member, Jake Black, is a Las Vegas native.
