Woman found in farm inlet into field off Samuelson Road believed to have committed suicide

A body found Wednesday night, Oct. 17, in the 3400 block of Samuelson Road has been identified. It is believed the victim died as a result of a suicide. As a result, the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office will not release the name of the victim.

According to the Coroner’s Office, the body of a 38-year-old white female, who was a Rockford resident, was found around 5:30 p.m., Oct. 17, on the north side of the road at a farm inlet into a field.

There was no trauma to the woman’s body, and an autopsy has been scheduled for Oct. 18.
