Things just got easier for folks wishing to donate to Hoo Haven Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center. There are now three convenient drop-off sites for dry goods donations such as dog and cat food, birdseed, nuts, paper towels, laundry soap, and 30-gallon garbage bags. The locations are: Wayne’s Feed Store, 3435 Auburn St., Rockford; Petland, 7358 N. Cherryvale Mall Drive; and Terri’s Aqualand Pet Center, 6321 N. Second St., Loves Park.
Come out and see the birds and animals! The annual Open House will be from 1-4, p.m., Sunday, Nov. 4. Tours will be given, and baked goods, Hoo Haven 2013 calendars, woodcarvings, and jewelry will be on sale. A goodwill donation of $5 per person is requested. The address is 10823 Cleveland Road, Durand, 61024. Cleveland Road is off Route 75, 1-1/2 miles west of Meridian Road.
Hoo Haven is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization supported solely by donations and volunteers. It has served the northern Illinois area since 1979 by caring for injured, sick or orphaned North American wildlife. Once healthy, the animals and birds are released back into nature.
