Staff Report

Rockford Rescue Mission will be the beneficiary of the Allstar Weekend presented by Allstar24Sports/Ahman Green Foundation, featuring the Green Bay Packers all-time leading rusher Ahman Green. The event is Oct. 26-27 and includes two charity functions.

The Ahman Green VIP Party will be at the Clock Tower Resort Friday, Oct. 26. Guests will have the opportunity to meet Ahman Green and can take part in a silent auction filled with impressive sports collectibles, as well as IceHogs tickets, Magic Waters and season golf passes, and other great items.

Green will also be on hand for the second event of the weekend, the Allstar Classic Softball Tournament at Forest Hills Diamonds in Loves Park Saturday, Oct. 27.

Allstar24Sports creates and manages charitable sporting events to help raise money for individuals, families, foundations, charities and programs whose goals are to make a positive impact in their communities. They chose Rockford Rescue Mission as one of two organizations that will benefit from the weekend’s charity events because of the multiple ways in which the mission serves the community.

Rockford Rescue Mission Executive Director Sherry Pitney said: “The Mission is certainly honored to be part of this exciting weekend here in Rockford, and is pleased to be recognized by Allstar24Sports for our dedication to assisting the homeless and less-fortunate here in our community. We hope our friends and supporters will take this opportunity to meet Ahman Green at these two special events, which promise to be a lot of fun while benefiting the Mission at the same time.”

Details and ticket information are available online at www.Allstar24Sports.com.

Open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year since 1964, Rockford Rescue Mission provides nutritious meals and safe shelter for thousands of hungry and homeless men, women and children every year, along with recovery programs and outreach services to rescue, recover and restore the lives of those who are struggling in the Rockford community.
