Illinois 173 improvements on track to be completed Nov. 1

MACHESNEY PARK, Ill. — The project team working on the Illinois 173 improvements stated they are on track to complete the project Nov. 1. The construction began March 19 after the previous year of construction and installation of the box culverts on North Second Frontage/Orlando Drive (McDonald’s).
Traffic signalization will be coming to life in the next week at Banyan and Ralston Road (east of Illinois 251), North Second Frontage/Orlando Drive and Alpine Road. Lane stripping was to begin Oct. 26, with the removal of all the cones and barricades by Thursday, Nov. 1.
