Rockford’s Keith Country Day School presents International Food Fest Nov. 2

Rockford’s Keith Country Day School will transform its upper school gym into a food lovers’ paradise from 5 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 2, when the school hosts its the International Food Fest.
Fifteen countries will be represented at special food booths where attendees can enjoy cuisine from around the world for just $1 a taste. Admission is free, and the event is open to the general public. Event organizers expect attendance to exceed 500 students, parents and members of the community.
“The International Food Festival is one of our most popular activities,” said Deb Dimke, head of school at Keith. “Hosting cultural events for the community is a wonderful learning experience for students and their families to enjoy together.”
Prepared by Keith parents, festival-goers will have the chance to try foods from Finland, America, Mexico, South Korea, China, Philippines, central east Germany, Spain, eastern Europe, Italy, Turkey, Jamaica, India, Poland and southwestern Germany.
In addition to the food, a student-led a cappella group, the Keith Jazz Band, One Less Tenor and Tom Dummer on the modern bagpipe will all be part of the performance lineup from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
