Brick by brick and generation after generation, millions of creations have been made from LEGO products. During November, Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens, 1354 N. Second St., Rockford, will host LEGO Month, presented by BMO Harris Bank.

BMO Harris Bank is committed to building, strengthening and enhancing the lives of those who live, work and play in every community we serve. Being a part of LEGO month was a perfect fit for us,” said Andrea Ward, BMO Harris Bank market president of Rockford.

A 6-foot LEGO version of BMO Harris’ beloved mascot, Hubert the Lion, will be on display at the conservatory until Nov. 13. Hubert has been the corporate mascot of BMO Harris for almost 50 years.

The first LEGO-themed activity takes place this Sunday, Nov. 4, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Rock Valley College WhizKids will host LEGO workshops, which are free with admission.

Watch professional LEGO artist Sean Kenney create Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens entirely out of LEGO bricks. For more than 30 years, Kenney has created pieces for television, celebrities, or events, turning ordinary LEGO bricks into contemporary sculptures. Watch him in action from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Nov. 9; from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Nov. 10; and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Nov. 11.

Other LEGO-themed activities include LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Chicago coming to the conservatory to host workshops, mini-competitions, and to give away prizes Nov. 17-18.
