Avon Street between Chestnut and Preston to close beginning Nov. 8

Beginning Thursday, Nov. 8, Avon Street between Chestnut and Preston streets will be closed for site remediation by Commonwealth Edison. This construction shall be completed in November 2013, dependent on weather.

A detour will be set and traffic control will be in place. During this road closure, there will be heavy truck traffic. Motorists are encouraged to use caution in and around the work zones.
